19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player won his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued four initial opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
