Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Holiday Season

In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Uncovered

According to the authorized release, "A strange meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Exclusive implements
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

Previous Japanese Animation Collaborations

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime properties. The series formerly showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
